On June 5 in Astana, as part of the 15th International Mining and Metallurgical Congress Astana Mining & Metallurgy (AMM 2025), the 6th Forum of the Gold Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held.
The event brought together Members of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Association of Precious Metals Producers of Kazakhstan, executives of leading international mining companies, independent metallurgy experts, and leaders and specialists of domestic mining and metallurgical enterprises.
The forum served as a key platform to discuss current challenges and trends in occupational health and industrial safety within the mining and metallurgical sector, including modern approaches to improving industrial safety standards. Special attention was given to digitalization and automation of processes that contribute to reducing production-related risks.
Kanat Baitov, Executive Director of the Republican Association of Precious Metals Producers, emphasized the strategic importance of occupational safety:
“Today, production safety is not just about complying with formal legislative requirements. It is a strategic factor for business sustainability. In the context of global transformations – technological, climatic, social, and geopolitical – occupational health and industrial safety are becoming an integral part of corporate strategy and a factor of competitiveness.”
It should be noted that the International Mining and Metallurgical Congress took place in Astana, with AMM 2025 held under the main theme:
“Transformation of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex: Responding to Global Challenges and Market Shifts.”
